1.0 Installation
This CD includes
native versions of ACID Music for Windows 9x and Windows NT 4.0-compatible
Pentium and Alpha systems. The install utility, SETUP.EXE, on the ACID Music
CD-ROM, creates any necessary folders and copies all files required by ACID
Music onto your computer.
1. Place the ACID Music CD-ROM in your drive.
AutoPlay launches an installation menu.
Note: If you have disabled the CD-ROM
AutoPlay feature, click the Start button, followed by the Run option. Type
D:\setup.exe, where D is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive (this will work
on all platforms).
2. Choose Install, then follow the
instructions to complete the setup.

3.0 Audio Files and
Demo Songs
Included on the ACID
Music CD-ROM are over 500 audio loops of various styles that you can use with
ACID Music. These files are not copied to the hard drive because of their
collective size. You may run the loops directly off of the CD-ROM or copy the
loops you wish to use to your hard drive. There is no performance penalty
incurred by using the loops directly off of the CD because all loops are loaded
into RAM.
There are also a
number of demo songs on the ACID Music CD-ROM. These songs exemplify some of the
different styles of music that can be created using ACID Music, and offer ideas
for creatively using loops in an arrangement. Some of the bigger songs may
cause audio gapping on minimum configuration machines. These songs are labeled
in their names as being “big.”
4.0 ACID Loop
Libraries
Check your local
Sonic Foundry Dealer or our Website for more ACID Loop Libraries. These CDs
will expand your creative possibilities with more high-quality loops from
well-known artists and sound developers from around the world. Example Loops
from some of these Loop Library CDs are available by running the main
installation program and choosing More Loops and Demos from the
installation screen.
To view these demo
pages, you must have a web browser installed in your computer.
5.0 ACID Music User
Manual
Included on the ACID
Music CD-ROM is a complete ACID Music User Manual in Adobe Acrobat format. The
Acrobat format provides for easy printing of the text, should you need a hard
copy. The manual is located in the Manual\English folder on the root of
the CD.
In order to view the
manual, you need to install the Adobe Acrobat Reader. It has been included on
the CD-ROM in the Extras\Acrobat 3.01\X86 folder for your convenience.
Double-click on the file to begin the installation program.
6.0 Demos
The ACID Music CD-ROM
includes demo versions of all of the other products available from Sonic
Foundry. To install a demo, run the main setup program on the root of the ACID
Music CD-ROM and choose More Loops and Demos from the Install screen.
You must have a web
browser installed in your computer to view the demo information pages. You can
browse to the Products section of the pages and choose a demo that you wish to
install.
When you click on a
link for a demo, your browser will do one of two things: it may ask you for a
location to save the file, or it may run the installation program for the demo.
If your browser does not run the installation program directly, you can simply
save it to a location on your hard drive and run it from there.
